Assoc. Prof. Gs. Dr. Edie Ezwan Mohd Safian is a distinguished academic, researcher, and professional practitioner in the field of Real Estate Management, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), Facilities Management, and Property Technology. He currently serves as the Head of Department at the Department of Real Estate Management, Faculty of Technology Management and Business, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). He holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Built Environment from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), complemented by Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Real Estate Management from UTHM. With extensive experience in academia, research, consultancy, and leadership, Dr. Edie has actively contributed to numerous national and international research projects focusing on spatial analysis, GIS-based decision support systems, sustainable urban development, property market analysis, smart mobility, AI integration, and facilities management. He has led and participated in various high-impact research grants involving advanced analytical models such as AHP, ANP, machine learning, spatial econometrics, and GIS integration. Dr. Edie is widely recognised for his strong publication record in reputable journals, conference proceedings, and academic book chapters related to real estate, urban studies, sustainable development, AI applications, and spatial analytics. His research contributions have received awards and recognitions at both national and international levels, including CITREX and ITEX innovation awards. In addition to his academic excellence, he has extensive teaching and supervisory experience at undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. He has supervised numerous Master’s and PhD candidates and served as examiner, reviewer, assessor, and academic panel member for various university and professional accreditation initiatives including RICS and BOVAEP. Dr. Edie is also actively involved in professional consultation, community engagement, curriculum development, leadership programmes, and industry collaborations. His expertise spans across real estate analytics, property valuation, sustainable office development, urban transportation systems, smart cities, and AI-driven decision-making tools for the built environment sector.
