Professional Biography
Hj. Md Said Bin Md Daimon is a distinguished education leader with more than three decades of dedicated service in Malaysia’s education system. His professional journey exemplifies a lifelong commitment to leadership excellence, policy innovation, and the continuous transformation of educational administration. With deep expertise in educational management, human governance, and institutional transformation, he has made remarkable contributions to the advancement of Malaysia’s educational landscape at both district and national levels.
He began his career as a teacher at SMK Tengku Aris Bendahara, Kluang in 1990, where his passion for developing young minds laid the foundation for a career marked by progressive leadership. Over the years, he rose through various positions, including Senior Assistant for Administration and Student Affairs, Deputy District Education Officer, and later as District Education Officer in Batu Pahat and Kluang. His visionary leadership, coupled with a strong emphasis on professionalism and innovation, contributed significantly to improved educational outcomes across the districts he led.
In recognition of his exceptional administrative acumen, Md Said was appointed as the Director of Education for Johor State (JPN Johor) in 2022. During his tenure, he championed initiatives that strengthened educational governance, fostered teacher professionalism, and supported the implementation of Malaysia’s national education transformation agenda. His leadership further extended to the national level when he served as the Deputy Director (Professional Services Cluster) at the Institut Aminuddin Baki (IAB), Ministry of Education Malaysia, where he focused on enhancing educational leadership development, training, and strategic talent management across the nation.
Academically, Md Said holds a Master of Science in Educational Administration from Universiti Putra Malaysia, a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography and Islamic Studies from Universiti Malaya, and a Diploma in Education from the International Islamic University Malaysia. His academic background provided a strong intellectual foundation for his leadership philosophy emphasizing evidence-based decision-making, human capital empowerment, and organizational excellence.
Throughout his career, he has been recognized for his outstanding service and innovation, receiving multiple Excellent Service Awards (Anugerah Perkhidmatan Cemerlang) from the Ministry of Education and numerous state and national innovation awards. He has also contributed extensively to professional knowledge through publications, research journals, and books, including works on educational leadership, digital innovation, and performance assessment systems.
Md Said’s contributions extend beyond administration; he has served as President of the National Council of District Education Officers (MPPDM) and Chairman of the Johor State Directors’ Council, as well as Advisor to the Malaysian Red Crescent Society and Scout Federation of Malaysia (Johor Branch). His dedication to nurturing leadership excellence and fostering collaboration continues to inspire educators nationwide.
